The treatment begins with an analysis of your lips. You will receive advice from your practitioner, and together you will agree on the desired result. Your lips will then be cleaned before the filler is injected with a very thin needle.
The lips are quite sensitive, so filler treatments will cause some discomfort, but most people tolerate this very well. Nova Cosmetics' fillers contain lidocaine, which is a numbing agent. Therefore, you will experience a numbing and pain-relieving effect throughout the treatment and in the initial period afterward. For those who feel the need, it is also possible to apply numbing cream prior to the treatment.
A lip filler treatment provides immediate results, but the final result can be seen after about one week when the swelling has gone down.
At Nova Cosmetics, we use renowned filler brands such as INFINI, Belotero, Juvéderm, Renèe Premium, and Radiesse.

Possible side effects include temporary reactions at the injection site, such as:

  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Itching
  • Pain
  • Tingling/throbbing
  • Firmness/unevenness
  • Bruising
  • Discoloration

These reactions can occur directly or afterward, and may last up to one week. Lip injections may cause more swelling and bruising due to the unique physiology of this area. As with any other injections, there is a risk of infection. This is not a complete list of possible side effects but an overview of the most common. If inflammatory reactions persist for more than one week or you experience other symptoms of side effects, please contact a doctor immediately.

You may experience redness, swelling, and tenderness in the treated area. This is normal and does not indicate any serious symptoms.

 

Try to avoid touching the treated area for the next 6 hours to prevent infection or skin damage. After this period, you can gently wash the area with water and soap.

 

Until all swelling and redness have disappeared, we recommend keeping the area away from the sun/solarium.

 

If you have previously suffered from cold sores or herpes, there is a risk that these may flare up after the injections. Speak with our doctor afterward if you wish.

 

Avoid taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or Voltaren after treatment. These medications can cause increased bleeding following the treatment.
