About Us
TDYHOMES was born from a simple idea: making military travel feel like coming home.
Our story began in 2010 when our founder, Hans, was stationed in Ramstein as a U.S. Air Force pilot. Frequently on TDY in the area, he decided to purchase an apartment to have a reliable and comfortable place to stay. As he spent more time traveling and less time in Germany, he began offering his apartment to fellow service members—and that’s how TDYHOMES began.
What started with one apartment has now grown into a trusted network of over 80 fully
furnished TLA properties, ranging from cozy studios to spacious five-bedroom homes. In
2016, Hans expanded the business by purchasing a 25-room hotel, bringing even more comfort and flexibility to the military community.
Driven by his American values and deep commitment to service, Hans built TDYHOMES with a clear mission: to offer top-quality accommodations paired with outstanding, U.S.-style customer service. We understand how challenging and overwhelming an international PCS or
TDY can be, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
We are proud to be American and veteran-owned, but we’re just as proud of our diverse,
multicultural team. From Americans who’ve experienced PCS moves firsthand, to Germans
who expertly navigate the local landscape, to friendly team members from France, Mexico, the Philippines, and beyond—we are truly a global family.

TDYHOMES not only wants to provide the best service for people coming here from abroad but we want to do it the right way. What better way to show we care than caring about our planet first and foremost.
Here’s how we’re working toward a greener future:
- First of all, we all know it: Solar panels are one of the best sources of renewable energy.
- We are now implementing them on all our TLA / TLF longterm rent homes in the surrounding area of Ramstein Air Base and hope to rely only on ourselves in the future for energy.
- Our hotel uses rain water to recycle the water drain.
- We are switching our cars to hybrid or electric ones and hope to install electric chargers near all our TLAs.
- Our cleaning products are eco friendly and we mainly use silicon products to clean and use them longer.
